Hidden Paradise Farms is more than just a farm; it’s a love story and a testament to resilience and community. Matt and Jessica met while serving in the military in 2019, in Paradise, California. Matt, an electrician, and Jessica, an HVAC technician, volunteered to help build temporary housing after the town of Paradise was ravaged by a huge fire. They worked very well together and didn’t take long for them to realize love was in the air. A year and a half later, they were married!

Little did they know their lives were about to turn upside down. Two months after they tied the knot, Matt was diagnosed with testicular cancer. A surgery to remove the tumor was performed, and they assumed the cancer was gone. To both of their surprise, the day after Christmas, they were informed the cancer had spread to his abdomen and right lung. Six days later, Jessica found out she was pregnant with their miracle child. During this time, they both discovered the importance of their health, the food they feed their bodies, and began to question the ‘normal’.

By the grace of God, thousands of prayers from people all over the world, an undeniable belief that God would see them through this, and a child growing in Jessica’s belly, Matt was healed! Forty days later, their youngest child, Luke, was born.

During this time, the Hinton’s owned and operated a vacation rental management company in Temecula, California. After this life-changing event, both Matt and Jessica started to have a change of heart in what they were doing with their lives. A few years later, they decided to sell their properties in California, purchase an RV, and travel the United States to find where they’d want to live, raise their family, and grow their own food. After 8 months of traveling through 18 states and over 40 campsites, they fell in love with the property they now call home.

Drawing on their shared commitment to service and sustainability, Matt and Jessica established Hidden Paradise Farms. Their goal on the farm is to create a place where people could reconnect with nature, enjoy fresh, healthy food, and find peace and joy in everyday life.
